OUR HOPE AND DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE

We are very thankful for the blessings and supports that all of you, our benefactors, have given to Kim Long Charity Health Center from the very beginning until now, and many more years in the future.

Your continuing financial supports, prayers, and encouragement have allowed us the opportunities to serve the poor with their needs, especially health cares -physically, mentally and spiritually.

We have many dreams and hope for the future that YOU and Kim Long Charity Health Center together can reach out to serve more people in Hue and its vicinity, especially those most in needs of our help at this time.

6 of our service needs in descending priority :
1. Kim Long Charity Health Center:
our primary mission. The expenditures for the Health Center and Weekly Outreach Mobile Medical Services :
$4,500/ month x 12 = $54,000/ year

2. HIV&AIDS Services:
with the rapidly growing number of people diagnosed with HIV or AIDS, the needs of this services increase significantly.
· HIV&AIDS Care Center provides boarding for 5 orphans; provides educational, financial, nutritional and emotional support for HIV&AIDS patients and their families = $3,000/ year
· Tuition scholarship for 30 children who live at home with a single parent =
$7/child/ month x 30 children = $210/ month x 12 = $2,520/ year
· Educational outreach programs to the population at large = $2,000/ year.

3. Day Care Facility for Handicapped Children:
provides daycare, food, clothing and healthcare to the handicapped children for their working parents. At present, our Congregation has 2 Day Care Centers at Nuoc Ngot and Thuy Yen caring for 80 children.
There are at least 70 more handicapped children requiring help.
$10/ child/ month/ x 70 = $700/ month x 12 = $8,400/ year.

4. Elder Care:
many elders live alone in our community without their children's support, and unable to care for themselves. At present, Team Viet-Nam sponsors 50 elders at a cost of $80/ year for food and basic needs. We would like to help more elders who worked hard all their lives and deserved to live the rest of their years with dignity.
$80/ elder/ year x 100 elders = $8,000/ year.

5. Bicycle for School Children:
many children live far away from school, and walk to school. A bicycle will not only enable the child to go to school but also assist the family in their daily earning.
Team Viet-Nam has given 100 bicycles in the past few years. Many more children will be so happy with your generosity.
$70/ bike x 100 bikes = $7,000/ year.

The estimated cost for items 2 thru 5 is $30,920/ year.

6. A Center for Women College Students:
The University of Hue provides higher education to more than 10,000 students. Many are from small towns and board in private homes, or share apartments. Many of our young women students are at risk for HIV, STD or AIDS. Many more are at risk for pregnancy and subsequent abortion attempts.

We, the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate, truly desire to build A Center for Women College Students. The Center will be staffed by our Sisters and volunteers to provide :
a. A Boarding Home : for 30 female students who are most at risk health-wise and financially. The home will provide a supportive, family environment where these young women can learn, share and grow to embrace life-giving values. Each is expected to work in various income-producing activities of the center such as the cafeteria to pay for their expense.
b. Cafeteria Service : the Center will open a cafeteria serving the college student community. This will serve two purposes: producing an income as well as providing a safe, healthy gathering place for college students.
c. Educational Programs : the Center will provide educational programs on health, self-care, healthy lifestyle, spiritual development.

The cost of building this Center for Women College Students is projected to be $60,000.
