Kim Long Charity Health Center was founded on November 11, 1992
by the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate of Hue, Viet Nam.
The clinic was initially opened to meet the tremendous medical needs of poor people in Hue, staffed by Srs. Marie Benedictine Dien and Maria Consolata Bong who are medical doctors, and a few volunteers.
In 1993, the government gave back a small building next door allowing the clinic to enlarge the capacity to treat about 500 patients a month.
In 2003, a gift of $80,000 from Dr. Schneller of Seattle, WA, USA, enabled us to build the 2-story Health Center. This facility was dedicated on November 11, 2003.
Now, the Kim Long Charity Health Center can provide free medical care and medications to 2000-2500 patients per month depending on available funding.
The Kim Long Charity Health Center has these facilities:
· 1 waiting room
· 11 examination rooms for General, Pediatric and Ob-Gyn cares
· 1 room for X-ray and Ultra Sound
· 1 room for Dental Care (2 chairs)
· 1 room for Oriental Medicine
· 1 Pharmacy
· 3 rooms for HIV&AIDS Services
· Education, Activity and Meeting rooms on the second floor
· Medical Equipments donated by German Caritas.
